シンポジウム 2010 ～アメリカ知的財産法の最新事情～

 

このたび、PRIP Tokyo（特定非営利活動法人 知的財産研究推進機構）は、知的財産分野に携わる方々を対象としたシンポジウムを開催いたします。

 

スピーカーとして、米国連邦巡回区控訴裁判所（CAFC）のランドール・レーダー主席判事、ジョージ・ワシントン大学ロースクールのマーティン・エーデルマン教授にお越しいただくほか、モリソン・フォースター外国法事務弁護士事務所のご協力を得て、スチュアート・べラハ外国法事務弁護士、一色太郎外国法事務弁護士、ルイーズ・ストゥープ外国法事務弁護士、およびテレサ・サマーズ米国弁護士をお迎えすることができました。さらに今年は、岡本清秀氏（岡本IPマネジメント代表、日本ライセンス協会元会長）と玉井克哉教授（PRIP常務理事、東京大学教授）をお迎えし、日本における知財法の観点からもご講演いただく予定です。

 

第一セッションでは、「アメリカ特許法に関する最近の動向」と題しまして、米国の特許法に関する最近の主な動向について、レーダー主席判事とエーデルマン教授にご講演いただきます。第二セッションでは「技術情報交換と知的財産問題」と題しまして、べラハ外国法事務弁護士と一色外国法事務弁護士が、技術交換におけるトレードシークレットリスクの管理について講演いたします。第三セッションでは、「米国および日本における特許権の行使とマネジメントに関する多面的考察」と題しまして、特許ポートフォリオの価値を最大化するための戦略と特許権の行使に係る現状について、ストゥープ外国法事務弁護士、岡本氏、および玉井教授にご講演をいただいた後、パネル・ディスカッションを予定しています。

 

本シンポジウムは、実務界と学界から最高水準の講演者をお招きし、知的財産権における日米の最新情勢についての洞察とその意義を深めていただく恰好の機会です。ご多忙とは存じますが、是非皆様のご参加をお待ち申し上げております。

Symposium 2010 "Recent Developments in U.S. Intellectual Property Law"

PRIP Tokyo (a non-profit organization for the Promotion of Research on Intellectual Property) is pleased to announce that it will be holding a symposium for persons involved in the field of intellectual property.

 

The main speakers at the symposium will be Chief Judge Randall R. Rader (Chief Judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit) and Martin J. Adelman (Professor of Law, The George Washington University Law School). Through the cooperation of Morrison & Foerster LLP, a leading international law firm, we are delighted to have as speakers Morrison & Foerster's Mr. Stuart Beraha, Mr. Taro Isshiki, Ms. Louise C. Stoupe and Ms. Teresa Summers. We are also delighted to have as speakers Mr. Kiyohide Okamoto (President, Okamoto IP Management and Past President, LES Japan) and Professor Katsuya Tamai (Executive Director, PRIP and Professor, University of Tokyo).

 

In the first session, entitled "Recent Developments in U.S. Patent Law," Chief Judge Rader and Professor Adelman will discuss recent key developments and trends in U.S. patent law. In the second session, entitled "IP issues in Technology & Information Exchange," Mr. Stuart Beraha and Mr. Taro Isshiki will discuss strategies for exchanging information and managing trade secret risks in technology collaborations. In the third session, entitled "Aspects of Enforcing and Managing Patent Rights in U.S. and Japan," Ms. Stoupe, Mr. Okamoto, and Professor Tamai will discuss strategies for maximizing patent portfolios and the current state of enforcing patent rights in Japan and the U.S. A panel discussion will follow each session.

 

We believe that this symposium, offering the views of intellectual property experts in the judiciary, academia, and legal profession, offers an excellent opportunity to gain insight into recent key developments in intellectual property. We hope that you will be able to join us.
